We had Ryan "the General" Genua , a snow/skate genius and prolific rider take time out of his busy, important schedule and answer some questions about life in general (no pun intended)haha damn thats funny. He shreds for sure. If your ever in the boardroom , which you should be, give him a big hug and maybe even a kiss. Genua knows more about snowboarding and skateboarding than you know about how to tie your shoes.

DSS:how'd you your nickname tha general?

RG:well well well.. it started by Mr. Chris Campbell a.k.a best snowboarder alive..we were playin cards one night and chris called Matthew; misunderstood Matthew say "genua" and thought he said "general"

needless to say it stuck thanks to Chris.

DSS:ok ok to the snow/skate/wake world you are known as kinda an equipment genius, how the hell do you no so much??

RG:well my friend, its called years and years of experience dealing with people who have random questions.. I have always told myself, I never wanna look like an idiot when talkin to a customer, so the more I know the better .

DSS:haha alright so to put you on the spot what is the camber on the rome artifact 1985, 147 if that makes sense?

RG:t is called "jib" rocker with a flat spot from the middle of the board to the inserts; then a 3 mm lift to the contact points from the inserts out .correction: "reverse jib". Did I pass?

DSS:hahah alright you know your shit..you passed

RG:haha WORRRRDD

DSS:On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you love snowboarding and why?

RG:14.. cause its the best thing since sliced bread. what other sport can you go out with all your friends and not "compete" with each other but just enjoy the great outdoors.. a up side is there are always some hot snow bunnies to holla at.Regardless of skill level, everyone can just have fun. Thats what i love.

DSS: Speaking of snow bunnies whats ryan genuas favorite way to pick up ladies??

RG:With the corniest joke possible.. its always a win- win situation.

DSS:Nice hows it feel to work in the best shop of all time?

RG:it feels.. surreal. Its not really work. Nathan is one of the coolest dudes and he def knows what he is doing! I love it.

DSS:i meant rolf lanz........

RG:oh.. yea.. about that...

DSS:haha kidding theres no doubt Nathans the shit and so is the boardroom.

RG:I am glad I left when I did.. nothing against the peeps but that owner has not known what has happened since 1917.

DSS:ok so one last question before you go tell us about the patented "shoulder shimmy"...

RG:go check out a film from a couple of years ago entitled "Patchwork Patterns" its legit. anyways my boy Scott Stevens does a good ole shimmy and it has just kinda evolved from there, its good stuff.. maybe we can get a video of it in action.
